Accessibility
With rare exception, all Lone Star Recreation
playground designs meet the accessibility
requirements of the Americans with Disabilities
Act. All public playground designs done in
conjunction with Landscape Structures provide
the transfer points, ground level activity,
elevated access and approved safety surfacing
that allow children with disabilities to
participate in playground fun.
However, sometimes the minimum requirements of
the law do not meet the real world need for
handicapped access, particularly for children
confined to wheelchairs.
Lone Star Recreation has more than 15 years of
experience in designing and building fully
accessible, barrier free playgrounds, that allow
for full access to all areas of activity with a
fun and balanced mix of play components to
encourage and insure that children of all levels
of ability are genuinely attracted to the
variety of play elements, and experience and
enjoy the
playground together.
